Award-winning tubist Daniel Wilhelm is a chamber musician, soloist, and educator in the United States. Wilhelm is well-known for exhibiting exceptional phrasing, musicality, dynamic range, and effortless playing in the instrument's upper tessitura. In 2016 he competed and took first prize in the Artist-level solo competition as part of the International Tuba and Euphonium Conference. The Artist Division of the competitions are highly challenging and feature some of the world's best future tuba and euphonium artists. As an educator, students who have studied with Mr. Wilhelm consistently receive high marks in Solo and Ensemble festivals at both the District and State Level, with special praise for their tone, musicality, phrasing, and dynamics.
